E3 is over?

E3, the video game trade show, will not return for for a 2007 show. Maybe. In light of the same problems that lead Comdex to shut down - increasing costs, increasing consumer interest in alternative, fan-run conferences in light of massive, unruly crowds at the larger shows, and decreasing publisher interest in sharing space with competing vendors - E3 will likely have to make some serious changes if it expects to stay relevant.
